Bro. James Macken Student Welfare Fund

The late Bro. James Macken, FSC. was the 17th and longest serving (1975 – 1991) Brother Director of St. Paul’s Institution, Seremban. He served as a teacher, Sub-Director and the Director of St. Paul’s Institution for a total of 22 years. The legacy of his 16 year leadership and contribution is highly significant and is remembered by thousands of Paulians he taught and inspired. Bro. James Macken was also the force that shaped the establishment of St. Paul’s Institution (Pri) between 1979 and 1980.

His commitment to ensure that the new SPI primary school is one that all Paulians can be proud of for generations to come is unquestionable.

The idea to set up the Bro. James Macken (BJM) Student Welfare Fund for SPI primary students is inspired by the highly successful and beneficial Bro. Felix Donahue Student Welfare Fund for the students of SPI secondary. The BJM Welfare Fund will be used to assist SPI primary school students who come from financially challenged homes but have demonstrated good character and potential for academic and co-curricular success. The fund will also support a food aid programme for Paulians from underprivileged homes.

We invite Old Paulians and generous friends to contribute to the BJM Welfare Fund. The Fund will be administered by the Board of Managers, SPI Primary.
